How to proceed ?

Before appealing to the national energy ombudsman you should visit the information site for electricity and natural gas consumers:
 www.energie-info.fr.
This site describes the different recourses open to consumers in the event of a dispute: www.energie-info.fr/mes-droits.

Applications to the ombudsman are in two stages

A written complaint to the supplier concerned is required, preferably by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.  The supplier then has two months in which to offer you a solution.

If you are not satisfied by the proposal or if you have received no answer two months after the supplier has received your complaint, you or your representative may appeal to the ombudsman by letter within no more than two months.

The complaint must contain all the elements required for it to be considered (copy of exchange of letters, invoices, contract, proof of costs borne etc).

Application by letter

The complete case file must be sent to:

National energy ombudsman
Libre réponse n°59252

It may be sent in an unstamped envelope.

All applications to the national energy ombudsman receive a written reply.
